Craftsman: Building Craft is yet another Minecraft-inspired game that has managed to garner quite a following. Like its godfather, Building Craft challenges you to think creatively while taking you through an intricate building system. Your part in the game is that of a craftsman. The primary task is to design and build not just one but as many houses & castles as you desire. The game is somewhat like LEGO on steroids. You have an infinite amount of building space and more building blocks than you will know what to do with as you create.

Many Modes and Levels

While creative construction is at the core of this game, it is not all there is to Craftsman: Building Craft. There are several modes (including Creative & Survivor) and even more levels to explore. When you are not busy putting shape to your designs, you will be mining, fighting off enemies, taming animals to become pets, shooting at targets with bow & arrow, or taking part in any of the game’s long list of other play activities.

Simple UI

The user interface in this game is quite simple. Therefore, it is not hard to reach the goals of each level. Controls for moving about (accessed via arrow keys on PC) are situated to the left of the screen while a bar divided into tiny boxes at the bottom of the screen provides everything you will need in a given level. You only have to click on these boxes to acquire a specific item or achieve your intended action. For example, if you come across a lava pit and want to turn it off, click on the box with a water bucket and a bluish dome (with droplets trickling underneath). Doing so will cover the pit. Similarly, if you are exploring an area and want to acquire blocks, click on the box with an ax and carry out your intended goal.

• Think outside the Box

Nothing is normal in Craftsman: Building Craft. You are building houses out of blocks; living surrounded by pixilated block villagers; and you can even walk through the water like it was solid ground. Sometimes, there is no logic when fighting off opponents. For instance, placing a block of dirt or cobblestone in front of zombies will keep them at bay while holding a special sword will cloak you from some foes. Keep this in mind and try to come up with ingenious strategies as much as possible. It will help you get out of sticky situations.
